Preview scene "post processing enabled" not working properly

Problem description:

Disabling “post processing enabled” works only for current preview scene. After new mesh preview window opens exposure starts increasing like when post process is enabled. Tested on clear 4.14 project wit start content.

Repro Steps:

  1. Open any static mesh
  2. Create new scene preview profile (Default post process settings).
  3. Uncheck “post processing enabled”
  4. Open new static mesh, exposure will start increasing

UPD: default scene preview profile saves settings properly and this effect not occurs.

Hey kiyaha_jr,

I just tested an assortment of ways to load and check different profiles, and they all loaded the settings I saved in between preview windows of different Static Mesh assets being opened.

Keep in mind that when you type in a new Profile Name, that name overrides any pre-existing name that was there. You can then select that name from a dropdown list whenever you are previewing an asset, and the settings within that profile are carried over.

Rotating Profile - Post Processing Enabled

Non Rotating Profile - Post Processing Disabled

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you,

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for fast response. I’ve tried few different ways to save profiles and still got same effect.

Here is some extra steps that will help recreate this effect:

  1. Default profile needs to be on all default settings.
  2. Create new profile (even no need to change profile name). Uncheck post processing. “Show environment” and “show floor” also must be unchecked.
  3. Close static mesh window
  4. Open any static mesh (effect appears on new static mesh window).

I am still not getting the same results you are reporting, and I have tried all combinations of closing the editor window and disabling/enabling settings. Whenever I close a static mesh with a specific preview scene profile, if I open a new one, that profile is applied to the newly opened static mesh editor.

I would try re-installing or verifying your engine to make sure there isn’t something going wrong. I am going to need either visual evidence of this occurring (like a video or gif), or steps to reproduce this on my end before I can enter this as a bug.

Thank you,

Here is the video with that problem - YouTube

One thing that might be useful, I’ve contacted my co-worker and he has same problem with profiles, so it’s probably not related to my particular engine build.

Thanks.
