Post process affecting skysphere help!

hi im trying to make a outline for my game in a post process material. the outline resembles the one from borderlands. but for some reason the outline affects the skysphere and creates this ugly grid like thing in the sky. does anyone know what i can do to stop the post process from affecting the skysphere?

i believe i excluded the skybox from the post process using custom depth. i cant be sure i no longer have the project file. hope this works
