Post apocalyptic city

A short scene inspired by The Last of Us.

Due to hardware limitations i wasn’t able to get the best renders out of it but i think it turned out pretty good nonetheless.
.
The scene is heavily populated with Quixel Megascans’s assets, and the horse statue was scanned with RealityCapture’s free app “reality scan”, this just goes to show the amazing opportunity that Epic Games and Unreal Engine gives us to bring our stories and imagination to life.

Hey there @Mem_i,

Hope you’re doing well.

I’ve been a total fangirl about The Last of Us so seeing this is such a nice mini-journey back into that world. Although, I think your world is a bit more beautiful. The lack of fungus and the addition of a bit more green makes for an almost pretty post-apocalyptic environment.

Were you a fan of the games as well or are you a newly discovered fan of the show?

Hey @PresumptivePanda

Thank you for the kind words!

I played the first part when the remastered version first came out on PS4, so i was a little bit late to the party , but it instantly became one of my favourite games, to me one of the best parts of the environment was how nature took over everything which is why my short scene had so much greenery.

Love that! It was definitely the game that gave me a fear of zombies because of its immersive world. Which is why seeing your take on it is especially impressive. You’ve managed to capture the wildness of The Last of Us and how that effected the world.

Thanks for sharing  Hope to see more of your work!

Greetings @Mem_i !

What a beautiful and poignant ode to a classic! I’m definitely late to the show, but not late to the game. When I think of the premise of The Last of Us and see nature reclaiming her territory, I’m reminded of a quote from the book Jurassic Park, “Life breaks free. Life expands to new territories. Painfully, perhaps even dangerously. But life finds a way.”

The quote, “When you’re in the darkness look for the light” applies to both surviving humanity and nature itself, as nature needs light to survive. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us! Your render still looks astounding, and the camera work is beautifully shot. Are you an environment artist? What is your creative background?

Hello @Get_DOVAH_it !

Thank you again for the reply, i absolutely love your perspective on the last of us as well as my recreation of it’s world.
I’m actually an undergraduate architect, but i’ve been trying out many other things related to art, specially with the use of Unreal Engine I’ve been astounded by all the things that UE is capable of, and i’m still trying to figue out what i want to pursue professionally.
