For who do not own (and also don’t want) a credit card, there is a very simple solution to . Here in Austria you can get Prepaid Credit Cards from Visa and Card form tobacconist’s (is the correct word in english?) and post offices - there is no annual fee or other costs. You can get them in 25,- to 150,- EUR. They work exactly like “normal” credit cards.

I’m having trouble subscribing via Paypal.

  1. Onwww.unrealengine./payment I select Germany, Paypal, mark the checkbox and click “Checkout with Paypal”.
  2. On the Paypal page that comes up I enter by Paypal account credentials and click Einloggen (log in).

is what I get after the log-in attempt: “Wir können Ihre Anfrage zurzeit leider nicht verarbeiten. Kehren Sie zu Epic Games International S.a.r.l zurĂŒck, und wĂ€hlen Sie eine andere Option aus.”

Translation: “We cannot process your request at time. Please return to Epic Games International S.a.r.l and select a different option.”
My account definitely isn’t locked (I can log in via the Paypal website) and contains more than the 19€ I expected to pay.
The weird part is: If I pick United States, I get to accept the payment. I just didn’t do that yet because I don’t know about the implications of not including VAT, so no idea if that would have worked.

I don’t have a credit card associated with my Paypal account, only my regular bank account. Then again, the message doesn’t even point out that may be a problem.

Das Abschließen eines Abonnement ist nur mit einer hinterlegten Kreditkarte möglich. Nur mit vorhandenem Guthaben kann ein Abonnement leider nicht eingerichtet werden.

Maybe if Epic could add an option for an one time payment it would work, otherwise I see no sense for a PayPal option anyways. I will have a look at the virtual credit cards

I don’t understand why a credit card would be required if there’s a bank account associated. Paypal could just ask for a SEPA Direct Debit information instead. I won’t get a credit card (even a prepaid one) just to be able to work on UE4, that’d be a ridiculous reason.

In fact, PayPal has asked me for SEPA Direct Debit information before and they still have my agreement for that. Also, if I choose to not use my PayPal account but instead click on “Kreditkarte/Lastscrift” I get the option to pay via Electronic Cash and go through that SEPA process again - but I have to use a different email address, because obviously the usual one is already in use by my other account. Not useful, Paypal, not useful!

I got the “payment declined” message with a Vanilla Mastercard here in the UK. After contacting I got an email back from H. saying the had been “solved”, but the payment is still being declined.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I have checked the balance on the card and the registration details - email sent.

For anyone thinking of using a prepaid card, the problem seems to be that Incomm (the card issuer in my case) will not authorise the transaction.

I cant buy anything in fortnite. No payment method is getting accepted (please contact support) and I am not the only one with . A lot of money is slipping there and epic cant fix it! sad.

It won’t let me add a payment method at all, everytime I log into my PayPal (Yes, a card is active on it) or enter my credit card, it won’t save it so I physically can not add a method of payment.

i bought 2800 v-bucks and didnt recieve them, the payment went through but ive ended up with no money and no v-bucks. im not happy about
