PLEASE enable the color ramp node to become a parameter in material instances...

I’m not sure if this is the place to post this, but you finally implement a basic feature like the color ramp that has been needed forever. But there is no way to expose it to instances?

This parameter contributes to the look of your shader have it be editeable on an instance basis is a must! Having a ramp parameter won’t only be usefull for color in materials but in blueprints to remap all types of values aswell.

The color ramp has so far been a huge saver, because it allows me and my team the basic feature without making a node tree with a bunch of parameters to draw a ramp with a set amount of sections.

Anyways, thank you for the color ramp node but add the cherry on top and make it so that we can expose it, thank you :slight_smile:

you want the colors exposed in per instance data?

well… exposing those would add alot of instance data. and you would need pipeline and shader permutations for every instance structure data format you input into the shader. 2 colors, 3 colors, 4 colors and so on. that’s a hefty complexity.

you can do simple gradients with 3 colors and the 3 way color lerp. that is efficient. everything above adds data wrangling and potential performance penalties.
