Players don't always load in with a Pickaxe

Summary

After the patch this week, several players are reporting to us that they are loading into our game without a Pickaxe. We haven’t made any changes that should impact this, nor can we figure out why it’s happening. This has been an issue in the past (reported here: Starting game without pickaxe), so maybe that can help diagnose the issue.

Steps to Reproduce

From what we can tell, you simply join a new Session and it sometimes happens. There are not consistent repro steps we’ve been able to identify; you either load in with the Pickaxe or don’t.

Expected Result

You should load in with your Pickaxe.

Observed Result

Launch Session, chance you may not have a Pickaxe, when you don’t have one there is nothing you can do except leave the Session and try again.

@L10NHEART Is it all pickaxes or just certain ones?

FORT-1039555 has been added to our ‘To Do’ list. Someone’s been assigned this task.

The specific pickaxe doesn’t seem to matter; last known report was 7 am today.

”A glitch keeps happening to me whenever I try to load into a public game in Super Pet World where I only spawn with the remote and not with my pickaxe, the only way I can get my pickaxe is to go to the locker, switch my pickaxe with another one and then leave the locker but then Im only left with my pickaxe and not the remote used to upgrade the strength, the only way to fix it on my side is to switch to private instead of public, is this happening to anyone else? Its been happening to me for the last 4 or 5 days so far”

I fixed this issue by changing the user class after intialization to one with pickaxe set in class designer. hasn’t happened since.

Thanks, danger-dev. I love that we keep crossing paths and you always propose thoughtful solutions to try and help; it’s very much appreciated. I will share back to the team. Of course, I’d still love to see the underlying break fixed as well since it seems to be a known issue on more islands than just our own. (Also happened again to one of our devs this morning.)
