Planar Reflections Disappears On Play

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to use planar reflections for the first time, the preview plane is displaying as expected however when I press play the plane is not visible. I have enabled the global clip plane support and restarted Unreal twice. The actor is ticked visible under rendering. I have tried baking the scene with medium settings. Not really sure what I’m missing here?

Thanks,

.

Make sure that you have a reflective material that the planar reflections plane is lined up with. The plane itself is not meant for use in games but to be used with reflective surfaces.

Step 4 is a clear example of what I am describing above. The water surface is reflective and then you line the planar reflection up in that area and when you PIE or hit “G” for gameview while working in the editor you will see the results.

Oh I see! Sorry I misunderstood its purpose. Thank you for the help.

.

Also make sure that you have “High Quality Reflections” and “Planar Reflections” enabled in the “Forward Shading” category of the material.
