Planar Reflection really FPS Hit

Im Using 4.12.5
Hey Guys!

I have an ASK i have the OCEAN from the COMMUNITY WIP, theres an Ocean with Planar Reflection… Well The Planar Reflection Cost me 10 FPS…, is there a way to reduce it?(Screen Percentage doesnt do anything)

AND it Rendering even when i dont SEE IT, Under my Landscape
“treat as background unchecked, and Use as Occuld” unchecked too…, still have the FPS Hits even when im Not seeing it.

Can anyone help me pls?

Hi Kuro,

Planar Reflections come at a cost when enabled and depending on the scene they are reflecting will determine the additional cost for performance.

In 4.13 you get much more control over this process by deciding on what should be rendered in the reflection including, actors, lighting, post processing, and more. This can help get back some of the performance, but you will still have the initial cost to enable them.

Well im Downloading 4.13 atm…, But i think theres a Other Problem…
I was made Moveable Planar Reflection at the Ocean, My Idea was to Splitt them UP in Parts so Nothing is Under the Landscape…, Than i got it
Even when i just have 1 PIXEL of the Planar Reflection on my Screen the FPS drops DOWN -10-12 Fps.

I take a look in 4.13 maybe i can Optimize it there !.. but i Guess the Problem is a Other Thing

Hey Tim!.. welll the Plugin is just 4.12 Compatible :I…,means that doesnt Make any Good For me…, I test it later WHEN they Update the Version of the Ocean… (I was seraching for Recompiling) but noo Success
