Pickaxe sometimes missing for players on start

Hi. I’ve had multiple players contact me reporting that when they spawn into my map, they were lacking a pickaxe.

In the last couple weeks, I’ve only seen this once. And unfortunately, I did not pay that close attention to it when it happened to me. However, it is definitely something some players are experiencing.

I’m wondering if anyone knows if this is a bug in UEFN? Or perhaps something that is being triggered by my map?

As far as I know, the only place where I control if the player has a pickaxe, is in the IslandSettings under > Equipment > Start With Pickaxe. The box is checked.

Is there something else I should be doing to ensure they have a pickaxe? Or is there something I can do to make sure they always get one when spawning in?

Start with pickaxe I believe is an option in class designers and team settings and inventory devices. check those too i guess

Huh. I have a Team Settings & Inventory device … and it was set like this:

I wonder if that had anything to do with it? I’ll try updating it to this:

Well, unfortunately that device wasn’t even used … it was just sitting around in a dusty little corner of my map … leftover from some much earlier version. :confused: I deleted it. So its gone now. But I don’t think it was the cause. :question:

We’re also seeing this; seems to happen randomly.

It still happens. In particular, when a player joins a map that already has other players in it. The only way I found to deal with it is it put a sign in front of where the player spawns saying “No Pickaxe? Get one here” and put an invisible button on the sign. When the user interacts with the button, respond to to the interaction and forcibly respawn them. When they return they’ll have a pickaxe then. Perhaps there is some better way - but I don’t know what.
