Physics issue with water / buoyancy

I followed some tutorials in the Unreal docs to set up a level with an ocean in it and a boat that should float on the water.

When I drop in the BP_BuoyancyExample cube it floats as expected but when I add my boat, it goes insane as soon as it touches the water surface.

I tried messing around with all the settings but I can’t get it to act right no matter what. The boat either flies off into space or immediately sinks like a rock. I assume I have something set wrong somewhere but I can’t figure out what.
