So first, I need to explain a bit of history of my project. I’m making an open world (not large, around 4x4km). Now at first, I managed to make it perform great, 100+fps on epic settings.
But I realized that the actual roads/road layouts didn’t look accurate enough to real life.
So I started over with a new level, but this time it didn’t run as good, despite the actual level not being more demanding.
Despite keeping the exact same optimization methods, I can’t get even 80fps. But it doesn’t seem like anything takes any major performance. When I temporarily delete everything in the scene and make it empty, it only gains maybe 5 fps at most. An empty scene can’t get even 90fps comfortably, which a filled scene could earlier on the old level.
I can’t figure out any differences that should be causing lower performance on a FULLY EMPTY scene? Am I missing something?
