I have made a perforated metal material, but it is solid, You cannot see through it and the holes/perforated bit is just black and opaque. I need it to be see through. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Best,
Would you post screenshot(s) of the material graph setup with the preview of it?
Sounds like a case for a masked material. So just go into your material and on the left side go into “Material” -> “Blend Mode”, and there switch from “Opaque” to “Masked”. This unlocks the “Opacity mask” node, in which you connect your mask texture (usually a black white texture) for your holes and perforation
I was about to say that too, to use masked blend mode and plug in the opacity mask input. But I didn’t know if OP had done it already, so I asked for a screenshot. Remember to use a texcoord node to get the UVs of the texture mask correct and scalable. Or use a multiply node, plugging texcoord into A and a scalar parameter node to B, then the output connect to the texture mask, which is a texture sample node loaded with the black/white mask texture.
