PC Resources while rendering

Hi all, can someone let me know why Twinmotion is using only a small portion of resources (RAM,GPU, CPU) while rendering. Traditionally you would expect to have 100%CPU used while rendering, however I cannot see this in Twinmotion and a 10 second video with raytracing enabled takes 5 hours to render. Is there a setting to make things quicker?

Thank you in advance

Hi Ipiotis ,

Twinmotion is very heavily dependent on the GPU and does not rely very much on the CPU for rendering. RAM utilization will vary depending on how complex the scene is. Render times will also vary depending on your particular hardware, so I can't say for certain whether 5 hours to render a Path Traced video is normal or not without knowing your computer's specs.

Some settings that may cause render times to increase are if you have Max lighting or Refinement enabled under the Video Export settings and disabling these should help. Exporting 3D or 360 videos will also significantly increase renders times compared to standard videos.

Best,

Raghib

Hi Raghib and thank you for your answer.

The laptop is a HP Fury G8 with RTX A5000, 64GB Ram, i9 intel CORE vPRO and 1TB SSD with Windows 10 Enterprise.

Please see also below a screenshot while rendering. Any further input would be great. Video files render in HD with Max lighting and refinement disabled

Thanks, based on that screenshot, I would say that the render times, unfortunately, are to be expected based on your scene's complexity and your GPU. The vegetation, in particular, seems like it might be one of the biggest contributors to the long render times, as vegetation usually is among the most demanding assets to render, and combined with Path Tracer could lead to even longer render times.

Then this sums it up… Thank you very much for your contribution! At least I now know I am not doing something wrong there…
