Path Tracer Reference Depth of Field Breaking Metallic Meshes

Hello,
Im trying to find a fix for metallic objects creating white noise using Path Tracer when Reference Depth of Field is Active.
I need the Reference Depth of Field active to display grooms correctly on a heavily DOF’d background. Using the denoiser works to remove these but I also need the denoiser off
to stop the image from becoming too blurred. Examples of the noise below.

Same issue here.

I’m encountering this issue heavily too, and am unable to pinpoint a cause or fix. Hoping someone else might have some input!
