Parts of mesh invisible

The view in Unreal

And the view of Blender in which it was created

I’m confused as to why when i import it into unreal the faces dont seem to exist

I’ve deleted it from unreal, rexported from blender closed the engine and imported it again… still the same.. maybe someone has some insight into this?

The Exterior part of the roof does exist btw, just not the “celing”/inside if you will

If you leave a copy of the roof blender file, I’ll take a quick look.

Is this maybe another case of some polygons facing inwards, instead of outward? Do the missing parts appear, if you change the meshs material from one sided to a two-sided material?

Thanks Looking forward to hearing what kinda dumb thing i did

The faces themselves are missing, if i put a two sided material on it it there still missing, its just harder to tell

It’s a bit hard to tell from the pictures provided but the Roof is all faces facing correctly (Out/Blue), then theres a “celing” of faces on the inside all facing Out as well

Hmm… I get

Lemme google doc it

2 sec

Deleted Link to file

That should work

This is what I see on the underside with the grid material applied

Strange must be something about how im importing it, im on UE 5.5

Can you tell me if you have some special settings set in blender, what did you export as or the import settings on UE

My world grid is all F up on it lol

Honestly if you want just send what you exported

I used default Blender export, followed by default UE import. I am running 5.83 though.

Modelling mode doesn’t understand the object, I tried fixing normals and that broke it, so I wouldn’t use that on import

Could you send the blend file or FBX as you have it now

tbh i dont care per se what i did i just need the roof lol

The blend file is unchanged, this is the FBX

NightwolfRoof.fbx (18.1 KB)

I have no idea why that worked then lol, Thank you ; It’s all there now

No worries :star_struck: ( engine version possibly )

It’s been a long day, so I typed a load of garbage there.

That FBX had not even been in UE, so it must be the Blender version ( 4.3 ), or the export options

It was the Blender version, i updated lol and it works when i export

Ha! Fab
