Particle Culling Distance is Very Short Inside

I have a rain particle system that the player is supposed to see through a window. When the player is right next to the window this works fine but as soon as the player moves back the the system rapidly disappears. When the camera is outside however, the culling distance is fine and the particle system gradually fades out without problems. Changing the system boundaries didn’t change anything. I do not have any LoDs setup and I have not tried to use them as the issue appears separate.
