Particle Beam issues - anyone know a fix?

I’m starting to think beam particle support was coded by monkeys. Nothing seems to work right. As you can see here, the taper is not working right, it’s not tapering, just acting stupid. Also, when I go into REQUIRED module, duration section and replace “0” loops with “1” the whole ■■■■ thing disappears. And when I set the lifetime to less than 1 second (except 0) it still takes 1 second for the emitter to die and self-delete but it plays more than one loop to fill in that second for some bizarre unknown reason. Anyone know fixes for these issues?

I had the same trouble as you, but this works for my electrical arc particle system. It spawns multiple beams during one 50ms long burst with these settings. Hopefully it works for you too.

Can you post an image of your Beam data module settings that appear above the Taper settings?

And so, if someone like me comes across this question years later, then setting the “Spawn” → “Rate” and “Rate Scale” to 0, helped me.
