Panoramic EXR rendering creates non-panoramic cryptomatte.

Hi there,

So I have a major issue which I can’t seem to figure out.
I’m trying to create a panoramic movie render, using EXR and color-id (for cryptomatte).

The render itself turns out fine (360), but somehow my cryptomatte only renders the output of what te camera sees and is non-panoramic.

Since I do kind of need it, is there a workaround for this problem or an solution? Maybe a checkbox or settingI have missed somewhere?

I btw have tried rendering a PNG sequence with stencil layers, but in this case all of my rendered out layers are non-panoramic also.

This is a limitation of the panoramic renderer in Unreal. I ran into the same problem when experimenting with Panoramic renders in Unreal. Unreal unfortunately is not very well equipped for direct-to-panoramic production rendering. It is meant more for capturing final pixel in the Unreal render, and not intended to be composited in post.

There are a few 360 rendering plugins on the marketplace, but I found them to be convoluted and horribly documented.

Thank you for your reply. In the end we ended up using one of the 360 solutions from the marketplace. Its by far not perfect, but it gives us the possibillity to render 360 crypto and stencil layers. In the end I was able to deliver the project as the client expected, so all good. Would be great though if Epic would address this issue.

Hi there, I’m kind of facing the same problem here. may I ask which plugin you used?
