Panel Cloth Workflow: Multiple Weight maps to feed to 1 config node

Hi there!

I am ramping myself up on the Cloth Panel editor to see if its a good fit for my team. We are already well under way in production and have been using cloth in skelmeshes directly, so we would NOT be using the MarvelousDesigner route but rather importing meshes in via the panel editor.

I ran into a snag trying to use 2 maps for 1 config and poking around tutorials I’m not totally sure how to best plug this in. The desired goal would be to have a painted map for both Backstop Distance and Backstop Radius; I included a screenshot with what I mean, but you can see how the second weightmap is not connected to the Collection. In the second screenshot, I have the 2 maps in sequence through the white flowing plug; is this the correct way to use 2 maps for 1 config?

Sorry for the fairly basic question, the “Collection” flow feels like the “evaluate” line in other graphs, but also appears to build / transmit data along the nodes, so it was unclear in this instance what to do when Collection/otherplugs were not 1-1! Thank you!

Steps to Reproduce

Repro:

  1. Create cloth asset
  2. Create Simulation Backstop Config
  3. Create weight map node for each Backstop Distance and Backstop raidus
  4. …? How does one plug both in to the white-line “Collection” flow? (See image)

Thank you so much!

Hi,

Apologies for the delay, you’re correct in daisy chaining the nodes with the collection pin.

There’s an example of this at the following tutorial link: https://dev.epicgames.com/community/learning/tutorials/pv7x/unreal-engine-panel-cloth-editor#finalgraph

Please let me know if you have any additional questions!
