Your Default Layer Asset Path looks like an issue
Usually unchecked by default (I think) but the path is not set, point it to your projects_sharedassets folder or where your layers are.
Even if the shared assets are to be used, it does not work. However, it only does not work with newly created maps. I have old maps where the layers are displayed without problems and also work.
Are you able to workaround by deleting the layers and re adding them in ?
Bit risky … What does that lightning bolt do ? Auto Fill Target Layer Assets ?
OK I remember I’ve seen them at that stage once a fair while back when I got a glitch that removed all my layers, it was only early on & instead of restoring a snapshot I messed around with it, the + on the Layer will add it’s info, you can set it to a non-weight blend then select the layer info in the shared assets folder, add in each layer with the + in a circle at the top of the layers list.
Actually now I’m not sure if the first layer has to be a weight blend or not…, I did set it to dirt and it became the default landscape material instead of grass.
There is documentation about it that I was trying to follow. But it’s either layer_0 as weight blend or no-weight blend, it may be quicker to test which way works best than find and decipher the documentation.
I haven’t done anything on the current map yet and alternatively created another map to see if the problem also exists there. The problem currently exists on all newly created maps, so it’s a bug that I can’t fix now. Hence my request here as well.
Yes, I see what you mean, they do come empty and unusable now.
The user has to do more steps now to get it working, which it should be by default.
As a workaround, I tested the default, standard and customizable landscape types and if you use the Auto-Fill Target Layer Assets button, put a check in the Create new assets in the default folder if none are found box then click on All Layers it looks like it functions as normal and you can paint the layers.
Oh wow, I’ve been stagnating on the same landscape materials for so long, these other ones look cool
Edit: I just considered the workaround advised above may clear existing paint detailing and should only be done for new landscapes
