Thats precisely part of what I’m saying yes. If I tried the jacket on and I liked and wanted to walk out into the world wearing it like a champ… I’ll pay the full price for it for sure. If I can’t afford it I dont. I can still technically try on jackets I can’t affrod, but I can’t keep them or use them. but thats not really the point.
The jacket comparison as with any physical product is not going to be 100% accurate. The software product is created once and the work goes into it once. (not including support etc obv).
Each jacket is created separately with separate materials that have a fixed cost even if its the same model of jacket. They aren’t selling the same jacket x amount of times. Here we are selling the same product x amount of times.
If I have the money to buy modular building set, or urban city… how do I know which to buy? they’re both up there in price… not unreasonable, I just want to know if I spend $100 or more that I’m getting what I need to make my project. I fully intend on seeing my project through so I don’t mind spending money where I see it fits. I want a really nice looking new york style city level. I wan’t to build a few interiors so players can enter the buildings, go up a few levels and snipe from a windows… etc… but heres the thing… i get the urban city pack and not only can you not entr the buildings. You can’t even make doorways. Not only THAT. but if you do find a way to let the character enter the building… well the inside looking out is transparent. The materials and physics are only one sided. Well is it my fault for not asking? thats subjective. I’m not a pro modeler though I don’t know to ask these things… I would have known had I been able to try it out. Or I would have known had I paid $15-20 for it… and tried it out and realized… ok… this isn’t for me.
