Recently I was exploring possibilities of creating gradient outline shader, so you’ll have some kind of fresnel effect, but ONLY on edges of an object. I had some close results, still tho, having some glitches and wrong shading on object itself.
I was testing fresnel, dither opacity, tried to create an outline in postprocess, tried volumetric shaders but still not good enough. Dither opacity was the closest one actually, BUT on the render we can see all this pixelated flickering on the edges, despite the fact that I had anti-aliasing on final render.
