Hey man, bought the asset today and I have to say fantastic job! But, it seems that the bug where postprocess settings wont stick is still not fixed… Everytime I change one of the blueprint parameters the postprocess settings get reverted.
Huh, I’m so sorry about that, which version are you running and what PP volume setting are you trying to set?
No matter what setting I change, once I edit a parameter in the Orbit blueprint every postprocess setting gets activated and the “Gain” value of the color grading gets changed to x=0.85. An other issue I have noticed is that the orbit blueprint wont accept the Skylight, Sun, Moon etc actors unless they are unedited or freshly placed in the scene. The blueprint was updated today.
Edit: This was an issue because of something on my end, orbit works for the most part flawlessly.
Hey there @Kevinsaer, could you shoot me an email at contactsmallheartstudios@gmail.com, and I’ll have a closer look at this when I get off work? I did push an update that was applied today, something may have goofed in this process as a result.
Cheers!
Alright, I’ve sent you an email:)
I’ve just implemented the system and it looks like the volumetric lighting only works with the sun/moon lights, not with other lights? I’m assuming that this is the intended behaviour but I’d like it to also work with other lights. Is there any way to do that?
Hey there, it should work with point lights and spotlights as well, though with spotlights, the “cone” effect that you’d be seeing will be derived from the size/intensity of the inner cone, so make sure that the inner cone is visible/sized up in your spotlight settings.
The point light should work just fine as is, as seen in this gif:
If you have any issues with getting those to work, could you shoot me an email at contactsmallheartstudios@gmail.com?
Cheers!
^Ah, then I guess I’ve made a mistake somewhere. I’ll play around with it a bit more and drop you a mail if I can’t fix it.
Hey just got this a few days ago, and it is great!! Thank you so much for putting the time into making a quality asset like this. However I’ve been searching through the thread for preventing rain and snow from happening inside like say a house. If you get the chance could you please explain the setup or workaround to prevent this. Thanks again!!
Hey there, have you enabled mesh distance fields in your project?
Cheers!
Yes I did.
Hey there Mobfolios, how tall is the roof in your house?, and is your house uniformly scaled?
Thanks!
i love this? one problem i am having tho is that over time when playing the fps slowly decreases from 80 to 15 in a matter of minutes any idea why?
Hey there, I just responded to your PM, we can carry on troubleshooting there
Cheers!
Apparently, if you put Orbit in a 25km x 25km map, things do not go so well.
I probably should have guessed. I wonder if it’s possible to implement some kind of LOD or something, because it appears to be calculating everything at once and boom.
Any chance you have an amd card and downloaded the latest drivers “ReLive”?
I have the same problem, even in a normal scene without anything.
I hope I can try this bp soon!
are you looking at multiplayer integration?
wev decided to not use this assets cuz it doesnt sync online.
i realy wish we could use it tho, were gettin close to the alpha release of our game. if yur looking at integrating this asset for a multiplayer server, then we’ll wait for it.
else were gonna have to fall back on another asset
Sadly multiplayer isn’t something that’s supported out of the box. I am exploring/researching multiplayer but since I don’t have much practical experience with it and there are quite a few more features that have been requested, it’s on the backburner for now.
Happy Holidays!
