Orbit Camera Device's "Hide Player Character" Option / Setting Bug

Summary

Hi,

After the most recent v31.20 Hotfix, the Camera Orbit device’s “Hide Player Character” Setting being enabled is having a matchmaking / Game bug.

Here are a few things I have tested to come to that conclusion

  1. I have a published ( Unreleased ) Map which I am planning to release with code - 6043-8584-6343. If you drop into a game, you will spawn in the main pre-game Island, and your player character will be invisible as intended.

Now, when you press start, or the game starts automatically, your player will pop-back into the scene. There is nothing removing the camera, nor is there anything overwriting it.

  1. I have tested this in a private version as well, and produced the same result.

  2. In the editor, there is no issue noted. The game works as intended, the player stays invisible throughout as intended. This issue cannot be re-created, only occurs when playing the map as a published version.

Prior to this update, it was working as intended. I had kept this map aside to launch it on a later date, however upon checking, its having this bug.

This does put a stud in my step, as my entire game is based on the usage of the camera orbit device. I understand its a beta / early access device, hence I will look for an alternative. I am sharing this so it can be looked at.

Per my conclusion, no issues with the editor, the device or the project itself. All seems to work fine, issue only arises when playing a game which uses that device.

Okay, after a few more hours of testing, the Issue seems to have narrowed down to the Sequencer. I had a sequence that plays a intro as soon as game starts. I stopped it and it seems to have fixed it. I will re-make that sequence and see if that resolves it

All I am able to conclude is that the Sequence / cinematic camera is interfering with the actual Game cameras

Update - The issue is not fixed. Remaking the entire sequence from scratch did not help. Will need to workaround without using a sequence.
