Optimizing a bullet tracer effect in Unreal Engine until my GPU stopped crying

I made a small Unreal Engine plugin for bullet tracers and wanted to see how far I could push it.

The video shows a stress test with a lot of tracers on screen at once.
Goal was to keep it very lightweight and mobile-friendly while still looking good.

You can customize:

  • color

  • intensity

  • tracer scale

  • speed

Runs well on mobile, PC, and VR.
