Optimize grass FPS

Have grass in terrain, painted with 800 density and mesh have 160 triangles… but down 120 to 50 fps. help?

Hey azjolnerub,

Your wireframe image looks like you have some extreme mesh density, and your shader complexity image is showing a metric **** ton of overdraw.

What is the total instance count in your foliage tool for this type of grass?

If I were you I’d start by reducing the density of meshes you’re painting (there’s a lot of overlap) and shaving down the LoDs if possible.
