OPENCV_FISHEYE ?

Hi team,

I have images from a SHARE C1 LiDAR scanner, those are originally 2x approx. 120deg fisheyes. I can export these as a COLMAP dataset, but currently fisheyes are in OPENCV_FISHEYE format.

(I also have those images as pinhole but they are heavily cropped hence I want to use the originals)

I can currently not import this dataset.

Is this because the lens distortion model is not compatible with RS2?

Is there different model that could be used for those type of fisheyes?

(@JakubVanko this is related)

Hi @AVsupport , RS currently (RS 2.1.1) doesn’t support OPENCV_FISHEYE format, so I recommend using the pinhole versions.

Even if you would like to align fisheye images in RS, we don’t officially support that, but success has been demonstrated by switching the distortion model in the Alignment settings to Division.

OK, will try. PS, with action cams and 360 cams, 360 drones now more readily avaliable, fisheye support would be a very helpful path on the road to 3DGS

PS, have been able to import via FULL_OPENCV, however the import required a specific number of parameters )see sample line below)
