Open World Lighting - Need Help


I need some input and suggestions. I have a video here that I recorded explaining some of my issues in regard to open world lighting and exposure. Any input or insight you can offer is appreciated. I haven’t been able to find a thread that really focuses and discusses open world lighting for UE4 games and the tips/tricks/workarounds/solutions that are involved in it. If we could generate a discussion that would potentially help out other people seeking solutions that would be awesome! Thanks!

Hi Josh,

Why not just disable or set a lower intensity for your skylight when entering the cave? This can give you the darker areas and allow you to adjust the settings in the post process for a more concise look without having to counter another light source.

You can set a timeline to do a transition between skylight intensity as you enter and exit to not have an abrupt change in intensity.

Just a thought.
