Opacity as gradient in Material

Hi i am having material like this and i am trying to make marked ones as invisible or as to apply opacity how can i make it

like the left and right side are having gradient kind of and i am trying for opacity there

your 1-x is useless here, you need to premult your diffuse with the alpha. the alpha channel is float 1, means that white is opaque and black is full transparent :
