Hy everyone, I’m starting a new project, inspired in historic places as always, now i will be making a classic European train station, i want it to be with a Victorian look and to feel it very lonely in the night. So here is my moodboard of how i want it be the arquitechture the iron ornaments, the big windows and as the hero asset would be the train and the giant clock, also here is the lighting and how i want the look and feel atmosphere . I also made a 3d layout which i show in a top view and made the strategy plan for the modular pieces. hope you like it and i cant wait to see the final result
I started modeling all the modular walls and floor in maya, corrected a little bit my layout so it would be more interesting with a second floor, and placed a window material in the ceiling as a placeholder so i can se how it will be looking the lighting inside the station
Hi everyone, this week I worked in the ceiling structure , I had to divide it in 5 different modular pieces, and with this I focused in closing my environment. Also had to change the window material so that it had less opacity in the walls but left the one in the ceiling with more opacity so that the clouds could be seen and the light can pass through easily.
After the ceiling I worked in the second floor structure, and had to make 5 different pieces that complete it including the bridges and the stairs. In this pieces I left some vertex that I will use for texture with vertex painting. In this ones I included the iron structure that will be an important ornamental element that will complement the architectonical style.
As you know all elements have been modeled in Maya.
Hi everyone, this week I focused on finishing all the iron forged pieces and columns with some ornament details, so i made the railing with 4 variations including the stairs railing, columns, iron squads for the ceiling and walls union, iron structures for the cylindrical ceiling and for the diagonal ceiling too, hope you like it
And here it is how its looking all the elements in the unreal scene, I put a placeholder material for the moment because I will start to work in my uvs next week. But I wanted to start trying material at this stage
.
Hi everyone, this week I worked a lot in all my 3d elements uvs, so now I can see correctly all the basic materials that I put on the scene. I put some dirt on the windows, changed the brick wall, some tiled concrete in the floor and walls basement, and metal and painted metal in the columns, this are just basic materials so that I can analyze color and texture in the hole composition. Also I started to change a little bit the lighting, but i realized i need all the lamps scene first , so i put some victorian wall lamps and then change all the atmosphere lighting
Finally I worked in the train railing which was my last modular element and the train blocking of the first wagon and passengers wagon too.
hope you like it so far.
Hello @MARKIMIDEZ !
After getting caught up on the updates, I’m excited to see how far you’ve come along. So far, the composition and textures used are bringing together the feel of an old station wonderfully!
Will this be several still shots, or will there be a video walkthrough?
hi, Im glad you like how environment is going, I updated my last post and posted a gameplayvideo too, hope you like it
Hi there @MARKIMIDEZ,
Hope you’re well and having a wonderful week so far
This is such a stunning environment. The lighting, warm brick/wood tones, and scale all make the scene feel grand and charming. So genuinely impressed by this project so far. Cannot wait to see it complete
Hi everyone , this week i work in modeling the benches and the first wagon of my train. Also changed the lamps material for an emissive one, and corrected some uvs
