I have M6700/ i7/ 16gb/ K3000m 4gb so i can't use pathtracer, I like that maschine cause it will survive longer than human race:] So rather buying new machine I'd like to use egpu for pathtracer , The question is if it would work, and if anyone is using old machines in that way? I don't have thunderbolt so only option is something like Exp GDC+RX / RTX with min. 8gb. Would path tracer work with external gpu on windows?

I know that requirements but i'm not sure if I explain that celar.
So question is if i add for e.g. RTX 3060 12 GB vRAM via egpu would twinmotion see that external graphic card and let me switch pathtracer on?

Thank you for the follow-up and we recommend you check with the eGPU manufacturer if it is compatible with your machine and GPU as we do not have that type of laptop to test on and officially confirm. Not having the Thunderbolt connection does seem like a limiting factor where performance could be impacted.
