When I install UE (version doesn’t matter) using the offline installer it is not available to launch in the Epic Games Launcher. Our artists use the Epic Games Launcher to manage plugins etc. and would like to see our installed versions show up in Epic Games Launcher.
Steps to Reproduce
You can install with the offline installer.
Hi Adam,
This behavior is by design. The offline installer was solely aiming at installation on computers without access to internet. Therefore, the installer is updating Windows’ registry but does not create nor update any of the Launcher’s settings.
I will forward your request to the right person for future prioritization.
Thanks for posting your request.

Jean-Luc
Hello Jean-Luc,
I haven’t received a follow up yet. Any chance I can get an update on this?
Thanks,
-Adam
Hi Adam,
My apologies. I got pulled into other matters and I did not get the time to follow up on this.
That said, why are you using the offline installer for the editor and not the launcher?
Thanks for your patience.

Jean-Luc
Hi Jean-Luc,
We are a small VFX team with approximately 15 users and we manage all of our software through an automated package deployment service (PDQ) and want to be able to push new versions out as needed. Our artists, however prefer to work within the Launcher’s interface for things like plugins.
Thanks,
-Adam
Hi Adam,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I will share this information.

Hi Adam,
We confirmed that while not very streamlined, it is not currently on the roadmap to incorporate offline installer versions in the Epic Games Launcher roadmap through the GUI right now.
From our Dev Access team that manages this process:
The plugins/assets do need to be installed via the Epic Launcher, and plugins will need to be installed to a UE build that is installed via the launcher. Then, the customer needs to copy the folders/files from the launcher-installed directory over to the offline-installed directory.
The easiest way to manage plugin deployment from your description (if you want to avoid all artists having the launcher versions installed too) would probably be to have all the launcher releases installed on the main IT distribution hub through the Epic Games launcher, which can install them to the engine plugin folder [PATHTO]\Epic Games\UE_5.6\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace and then distribute those to the offline-installed directory through your package deployment service.
