Off screen emissive light source clips at distance

Anyone been able to resolve this? If I’m close enough to the emissive source, the light emits fine, if I move away, it stops emitting. In the Lumen scene view the light IS emitting exactly as expected, but this is not reflected in the main render. Tried the usual tricks in the PPV but no luck.

There’s a lit coffer around the perimeter of the room. It shows when close or when almost perpendicular to the light source, see below image:
