I have noted the same issue on 4.14.0. When using the VR template, VR preview works, but any other form of play doesn’t work (including launching to Windows device). I imagine that there are some settings to enable VR in its Windows build (and perhaps the other preview/standalone modes).
[EDIT: from http://www.tomlooman.com/vrtemplate: “Packaged games don’t automatically start in VR. You can either run the game with the -vr command at startup or while in-game use ‘stereo on’ via the command console (~ Tilde) to enable VR.”]
Hey Everyone.
I have a simular problem with the Rift. In Ue4Editor everything works fine, but in a development build ( pak or non pak ) Oculus is freezing the screen after a 1 second. At the beginning I can move the rift and the screen is responsing, but then it stops/freezed.
Start in VR is activated in the Settings, also Stereo VR.
On the Vive everything works perfectly.
Using Unreal Engine 4.21.2 and the VR Template
