I have an DK1 and was trying to make it work with unreal engine 4.4.1, however 4.4.1 seems to only work with the oculus run time environment 0.4.2 (correct me if I’m wrong). OVR 0.4.2 doesn’t work correctly with the DK1 and doesn’t read the tracking data correctly. Does anybody know how to get the DK1 to work with UE 4.4.1?
Hi Defluo,
I just tested this with our DK1 and it is working properly with 4.4.2 (if the steps below doesn’t help, updating to this hot-fix may solve the issue). I just want to go over the steps with you.
-
Installed the Oculus Runtime for Windows.
-
Download and unzip Oculus SDK
-
Make sure the Oculus is working properly using the Oculus Configuration Utility
-
Once in UE4, run in Standalone mode & press Alt+Enter
If it still doesn’t work, troubleshoot with these steps. A new, community-hosted Unreal Engine Wiki - Announcements - Epic Developer Community Forums
Please post back here if this works for you or not.

Thank you for replying! Can you tell me which version of oculus runtime and which version of the oculus SDK you used? I’ll test it as soon as I get home from work.
Sure, I used the Runtime and SDK for Windows 0.4.2 beta. It should be the same one you used, which makes me think that updating your UE4 to 4.4.2 may fix the issue.
Updating to 4.4.2 worked! Thank you!
