I dont know what im doing wrong, the material works fine on the wall but as soon as its on the character the normal dissappears. Any help would be very greatly appreciated.
i imagine with a decal, its the direction that matters (if you look on the inside of your character youll see the normal) Perhaps change your decal to double sided in the material settings
hey, since the material domain is a deferred decal, i cant turn on two sided. any other suggestions or workarounds? and also when i turn the material around, it still doesnt show the normal texture on the character, so im not sure if its because of the direction or something, im maybe wrong, idk
try going into your material and inverting the normal map (its something like one minus before the normal input)
Still didnt end up working for some reason. Im not sure what the hell is going on.
out of curiosity have you tried rotating the decal 180 degrees in all directions just to rule out a vector issue
just did, nothing changed.
if you go to your character and select the mesh, then look at the property values, is there any kind of bRecievesNormal checkbox?
There doesnt seem to be one.
