Lava tiles have a setting “Lava surface” which damages the player on contact. These cannot be edited in UEFN or have their setting save when edited from live edit.
Also trying to figure this out.
doesn’t work, i’ve tried several different lava tiles and none of them cause the player to bounce and take damage
This half works for me, but I don’t know why. I have some that work and some that doesn’t.
Some ideas:
-Center of the world (0,0,0) proximity
-Placed in Creative mode rather than UEFN
Lmk if you figure it out
thanks for the reply
i went to one of my play/test maps yesterday and added lava tiles and they worked! so i went back to my original map to try and replicate it but to no avail, i then went back to my play/test map to see what might be the thing that enabled them to work only to find that they had stopped working, i don’t think i even changed anything, i just re-launched the session and they no longer behaved like lava
i’ve watched youtube videos where people are creating a physical material as lava, adding it to a plane and then placing the plane on the surface of the lava tiles so you get the visual and physical lava effects so maybe i’ll just do that but it’s another workaround that i’d rather not have to do
I just arrived at the same issue (Epic’s provided Lava Tile 2L doesn’t provide Lava Bounce/Damage) and used the solution of rebuilding a new Lava Prop. All credit goes to this video post https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cD3HC3EmM8. In 5 Minutes I was able to apply “Lava Physics” to an prop (in my case a standard cube) and it reproduced the same lava bounce and damage.
