none of the hotkeys are working in my material graph editor. how can i correct this?

I recently downloaded UE4, and while working on the materials tutorial, I couldn’t advance because none of the hotkeys are working (for instance, 3 and left-click to add a constant 3 vector node, or anything else. Does anyone else have a fix for this?
