I’ve noticed that my glass objects, like the salt shaker and ashtray, seem to disappear when I view them from a distance in Unreal. I’m not sure why this is happening or how to fix it, so I’m hoping someone can help me out. I’ve attached two screenshots to illustrate the issue. In the first one, when I’m zoomed out, the glass on these items is invisible, except for the metal lid on the salt shaker. The second screenshot shows what happens when I zoom in close, and you can see the glass materials as they should be. Also, I’ve realized that the glass isn’t casting any shadows; you can clearly see that there’s no shadow from the glass materials on the seat.
Just a observation, are you using Hardware Ray Tracing?
yes i am
I never have, but are the meshes set to Stationary. I believe, Static gives you Baked Shadow maps, Stationary gives you a blend of both Baked and Realtime, Mobile gives you realtime shadows. I always set my models to Stationary.
I addition, isn’t there a setting that gives Ray Traced Shadowing?
