foliage is not projecting shadows at all. I’ve tried to recompile the lighting, but my scenery is so giant that I waited more than 48 hours and didn’t go out of 0%, so I gave up. For now I’ve left my directional light in Stationary and the shadows doestn’t work…
But I want them to work with movable light or stationary.
I’m using the Super Grass Blueprint free package: Unreal Engine 4 - Advanced Cinematic Grass Blueprint *FREE ASSETS* (Updated: 5/6/2020) - YouTube
There are so many issues here:
-
First of all, use dynamic lighting, at least while you sort the problem out.
-
Have you placed the grass using the foliage tool or is it a grass type on the landscape?
-
Is the landscape pretty standard?
-
The landscape is very dark, it’s hard to tell if there are any shadows, can you try it with something lighter?
-
Do the grass meshes have ‘cast shadow’ checked?
-
If you placed them using the foliage tool, did you have ‘cast dynamic / static shadow’ checked?
-
Does your dynamic light have ‘cast shadows’ checked?
Hear from you…
PS: There’s also lots of free grass in the free epic content, have you tried some of that?
It works when I disable all material LODS for distance.
Can you explain how you did that? I’m having the same issue. Thanks!
