I have same problem with metahuman creator 5.4. error code 1 and i can’t delete. also there are no my metahumans in quixelbridge 5.4 inside unreal and also no my metahumans in quixel bridge standalone from where i export to maya. i can see only my 5.3 metahumans in unreal 5.3 quixel bridge and in in creator 5.3 but i need 5.4. to work so i can export it to maya. ahhh and I’m in the middle of the project counting on it to work.
Unfortunately, doesn’t work for me. Even when opening MHC 5.4 still get the same error and can’t delete the affected asset.
Been reading these posts and trying everything all day to get 5.4 working and showing my metahuman in Bridge. Nothing worked. Finally figured it out.
I noticed that bridge was using an old version of my user name and as I have recently changed me email address I could see why. So the issue for me is definitely a log in mismatch.
I signed out of everything, logged back in to Epic.
Within Bridge I went to my account and logged out and rather than signing in automatically with Epic I made sure to type my pass and user name.
I did the same with MetaHuman, logged out, logged in .
Once logged back in I could see that the metahuman I was working on wasnt there even though I was in the correct version. Luckily I had exported a copy - imported that, ignored the error and waiting until it came in.
Opened unreal, went to bridge within and boom it’s now there.
Defiantly a login user issue for me anyway. Make sure to log out and in of all 3 culprits.
I tried logging out everything and logging in again. I still get error code 1.
I tried, it pops up “Error encountered loading metahuman (error code1)”, when I clicked the failed upgrade metahuman. But it cannot be deleted because delete button will trigger this error again.
Still cannot see any metahuman in bridge.
Yes I logged in Bridge
Yes I logged with UE5 bridge plugin
Yes firewal is turned off
Tried everything and the solution for me was:
i was on 5.3, i opened 5.4 metahuman site version i was able to see the broken file i deleted it, and then moved to unreal 5.4 instead of 5.3 everything is fine now
Yes, apparently as mentioned before, the only solution is to open an older MHC character in a newer version and delete it. However, if the invalid character was made in the latest version (currently 5.4), you’re out of luck. In my case, what causes the invalid character is the duplication of the character before sculpting it in MHC. I strongly advise to manually duplicate the character before sculpting and to not use the automatic duplicate feature for now.
I deleted my metahumans, created a new one and still the option MY METAHUMANS isnt available to import it in Unreal
EDIT: restarted the PC, when i opened quixel in unreal, i noticed that i had problems and delays with the sign in, when finally connected to my account, the MY METAHUMANS panel appeared
that worked for me too!
That’s what my problem was. Thanks for the info.
It’s 2024 and this is still not solved, renders the metahuman creation tool useless.
I’ve been having a similar problem where I couldn’t see my metahumans. Luckily, I realized the dumb mistake I’ve been doing. My ue5 project is on 5.4.4 at the moment, and this whole time I was doing the metahuman on the version Unreal Engine 5.5 . So I changed it to 5.4 and can now see
my metahumans.
Hope this helps any others.
