Niagara "Scale Color" alpha value does not change

I am using a translucent material for a sand cloud effect, but while setting a vector from curve for the color changes the RGB values of the material’s texture, the alpha value doesn’t interact with the opacity of the material’s alpha texture. My best guess is that I’m missing something in the material setup, but I’m not sure what.

It works! I admit I wasn’t entirely sure what the particle color was meant to do behind the scenes, tutorial syndrome I guess. Thanks a lot!

Go to the particle colour node and connect the very bottom pin into your first multiply node that goes into opacity?
