I have a Niagara VFX tutorial series I did in Unreal 5.5
When I open a copy of the project in 5.6, all of the 3D gas looks like it has peppered noise throughout the volume.
Any ideas what’s causing this? I’ve been enabling, disabling, changing settings trying to locate the cause of it and figured I’d hop on here and see if anyone else knows already.
Did you find a fix for this? I am seeing this exact issue, and it still exists in the 5.7 preview.
For me, there doesn’t appear to be an issue with either 5.6 or 5.7 when running on an RTX 2080 (tested with the September and October Nvidia Studio Driver releases). However, with these same drivers on an RTX 4090 the artifacts are incredibly large and frequent (even animating while the simulation is paused, looking almost like tv static noise). The artifacts get worse the closer the camera gets to the simulation, and make the effect completely unusable, appearing also in offline renders.
What graphics card are you using? I’m curious if this is a 4000 series issue, and it would be great if others can chime in to see if this is the case. This appears to affect any Niagara 3D gas emitter in UE 5.6 and 5.7.
