Niagara - control water after emitted?

Hi! I’m working on a project where a character can control water (Very beginning research phase). I was wondering if there’s a way for the particles to be influenced by an object after they have been emitted so that they follow that object? Perhaps an animated object which would be invisible in game that is controlled by the player, and the nearby water is pulled along by it? If this isn’t possible with Niagara, I’d very much appreciate any suggestions!
