FOX Sports kicks off the NFL season with a groundbreaking multicam virtual production studio

It’s the start of a new NFL season. FOX Sports’ pregame show has been an integral part of game day for almost three decades, with previews, analysis, and panel discussions that have won four Emmy Awards.

This year, the show’s impressive broadcast coverage had something different going on behind the scenes. For the first time, FOX NFL Sunday was produced in their brand-new LED virtual production facility powered by Unreal Engine. Featuring groundbreaking multicam capabilities, the facility had taken more than six months and 30,000 combined staff hours to complete.

Rōnin Trail is a voxel-based open-world game being created in Unreal Engine by a solo student developer.

Solo Game Developer Danny Park talks about the development process and inspiration behind Rōnin Trail, an upcoming open-world voxel game where you set out on a journey to Edo, the City of Opportunity, traveling through the countryside in the hopes to find your purpose as a wandering nobody. He discusses the challenges of being a solo developer, the game’s mechanics, and combat systems and shares thoughts on setting up voxel environments in Unreal Engine.

KitBash3D Mission to Minerva

A new star system has been discovered–The Minerva Galaxy! The challenger’s mission, should they choose to accept, will be to create their own planet with a unique discovery settlement.

The Remnants || Unreal Engine 5 short film

Five years after a global disaster and the planet is slowly dying, as are the hopes of the remaining few. One of the survivors is looking for a place to call home, not knowing when he last ate, or when he will again. Stumbling through the dark he stumbles across something, a light, a spark of hope, but will that hope be returned? Check out this one-man production project by VFX Artist Stan Petruk.

Dragons Rise

3D Artist Yinuo Chen’s used an ArtStation Challenge to revisit their fond memories of environment design, using the Realm of the Dragon’s Rise concept art by Yuyun.
In the environment’s development, they were able to try out new systems and workflows, including complex world-position-offset animations.
