Newbie question - How can I let a HDRI lightsource differ from a background?

Hi,

Is it possible to have a different background and light source?
In the scene I’ve got a 3D model which is lighten by a Spherical HDRI image (HDRI Backdrop). The background however must be white. I can’t get this done.

Regards

Not sure if the HDRI Backdrop Blueprint supports it, never really use it. Basically you just need to have your background be one thing(HDRI, color, etc) and set a custom HDRI in the skylight. You can use the same material and mesh the HDRI Backdrop actor uses, just manually place them, then place your Skylight and assign a cubemap

Thanks

A little bit closer to the goal. The lighting is good, but the background is black.

If I place a Skylight and use the same HDRI the lighting looks ok. I can’t find a way to change the background however.
I tried to place a big Sphere around the project, but the normals seems to point the wrong direction…

Regards

The HDRI Backdrop does come with an internal skylight, and that can have a different texture than the Backdrop itself. And with giving both of them different textures, you will get the reflections from the backdrop and the light from the skylight, both adjustable in intensity.

Here is a video for testing, at least it seemed to do what you want
