Summary

Since the last update, collisions on Fortnite Static Meshes and imported ones seem complety broken.

What Type of Bug are you experiencing?

Assets

Steps to Reproduce

Lauch my map, walk around and you’ll completely lag after a few seconds or a few minutes.

Expected Result

You should be able to move around without any lag.

Observed Result

After launching a map, the bug will appear and disappear randomly without any way to fix it.
I’ve tried to change the collisions and make the SM moveable but it doesn’t change anything.
If you’re turned into a prop (in a prop hunt for example), you will not be impacted and will not lag at all.

Additional Notes

Please note that this issue also happens in a UEFN live sessions. I have another map I’m planning to release this week and I’m stuck as it is unplayble this way.
As I said, if you’re a prop, the lag won’t happen.

FORT-831246 has been created and its status is ‘Unconfirmed’. This is now in a queue to be reproduced and confirmed.

Hi Flak. I believe I’ve located the issue for this. It’s related to the ‘Can Step Up On’ setting that was adjusted in the Ch6 update.
It used to just be a checkbox but now it is a dropdown field with ‘Yes, No and Owner’ as the options. No matter what you select, it will still produce stuttering but it is much worse when ‘Owner’ or ‘No’ is selected. It’s better but not still not perfect when ‘Yes’ is selected.
Sadly a lot of Fortnite SM meshes were defaulted to ‘Owner’ in the update which I think is what’s causing the violent stuttering due to the character trying to step up but not being allowed.

Respawning the player seems to work as a temporary fix.
Sadly the issue returns again within a few minutes.

Hope this helps and praying for a quick resolution on this one as so many maps are unplayable now because of it.

What if you change the mobility to “movable”?

Makes no difference, sadly.

Another update on this. It’s a prop floor. You can see hitching and lagging all over it. Respawn and it works perfectly fine as intended. Something is happening after a few minutes of gameplay to trigger this. Combat maps are fine as players are constantly being eliminated and respawning but others that are more passive are really suffering!

You know what, I think it may be caused by the Prop O Matic. When a player changes back from being a prop, it seems to be very noticeable then.
