Summary
The new photo capture mode for creating lobby backgrounds has many issues.
First, the HUD scale affects results. I assume this was made for players who have their HUD scale at the standard 100%. I play on 65%. The preview overlay was super small on my screen when trying to capture the lobby background, but when I changed my HUD scale to 100%, it got bigger.
Also, players are able to pull out their pickaxe when in this mode, causing them to show up in the screenshot.
Devices should also be hidden when in photo mode to make for a clean screenshot, but they are very visible, making the capture unusable.
Lastly, it’s difficult to exit the mode. Simply tapping escape did not exit me out of the mode, I had to hold it for quite some time, though there was no prompt to.
Steps to Reproduce
Load up Fortnite. Enter Creative. Go into your island. Enter photo mode. Adjust your HUD scale to see the preview difference. Press your pickaxe or phone toggle button a few times to pull out the pickaxe. Note that devices are also visible. Try to exit the mode by tapping Esc.
Expected Result
No devices visible. Preview overlay sized consistently despite the HUD scale percent. Unable to pull out pickaxe. Exit by tapping Esc.
Observed Result
All devices visible, except for zones, but zone outlines are still visible. The preview changes with different HUD Scale percentages. Pickaxes are visible when pressing toggle button, unable to put them away. Can’t exit photo mode unless you hold Esc.
