I’m working on a project and trying to evaluate the feasibility of integrating a haptic device that can be used as a 3D mouse. Has anyone had success integrating 3rd party hardware with an oculus and Unreal?
Short answer is yes. From Leap Motion to the Noitom Hi5, people have been able to integrate all sort of devices to UE4, mostly by writing an own plugin. You can access the full source code of the engine and also of these plugins if you need a starting point. You will also find plenty of knowledgeable people on this forum which may help you out.
