New ecosystem turned in zero visibility

Summary

I havent seen my games hitting updated for 6 months, i think by design they got featured in first person instead, but now after updating they drop in the void? I had a steady growth but its flatlined now

Additional Notes

I dont know this is a bug or by poor design but spending months creating something is useless now

was the only discovery id had been getting for years.

its really just become a place to develop for devs who just game the exposure, and they do it so well

if they don’t address multi-account spammers it will just get worse (ip, tax id per creator, 1-2 accounts per human being) every fix to reduce spam seems just another way to grip on if your already through the gate in some of these tabs and categories and collections and genres and and this convoluted mess

Take your time stuff did only flatlined all small creators, not the worst of your worries it seems

The status of FORT-1093850 changed to ‘Needs Triage’. We are investigating.

I’ve had a very similar experience. Released my map https://fortnite.gg/island/3917-9239-4836. Was placed into the first person category a couple times with moderate success early on which obviously I’m grateful for. But have never been in the updated tab and my map is pretty much dead since the first person tab is gone. Not saying I should be in the updated tab every single time but maps are getting in there as soon as they are updated and mine hasn’t in months lol.

Hi Epic team,

I’m Lanzeh, creator of multiple Fortnite islands, including GALACTIC ASSAULT TEAM BATTLE.

I’m seeing what appears to be the same issue reported here under FORT-1093850: after publishing updates, my islands do not appear to receive meaningful visibility in New, Updated, or the expected Discover testing flow.

Example island:

GALACTIC ASSAULT TEAM BATTLE
Island code: 1269-0049-8905
Creator: Lanzeh
Recently updated: May 13, 2026
Current public version: v90

The island is live and searchable, but updating it does not seem to trigger any meaningful Discover exposure. This has made updates feel ineffective, because the island does not appear to be getting the normal re-entry opportunity that New/Updated rows are supposed to provide.

This is not a complaint about performance ranking. The concern is that the island seems to receive little or no initial visibility after updates, despite being published correctly and having an established player history.

Could this island/account be checked as part of FORT-1093850?

I can provide additional island codes, publish dates, analytics screenshots, and update history if helpful.

Thanks.

49 min avg playtime, 28% D1 retention, strong CTR, yet no playlists or discovery support. Not even the “New” tab.

https://fortnite.gg/island/1874-3392-4061

After 8 launches we still see zero clear algorithm correlation. Feels extremely random.

After last week’s update our avg players dropped 60%

u on tab rn

Hey guys, I built a site to compare and view what categories (including “New”) are bugged / stuck.

https://isdiscoverdown.com/

I hope this will help Epic to locate the issues & fix them asap - as they are destroying the ecosystem.

We uploaded our map 3 days ago and didn’t get a single Discovery tag after 2 months of development. Meanwhile, there are maps with blatantly copied thumbnails from big creators sitting in the ‘New’ tab for 14 hours. Can we please get some answers on how this works? We trusted the recent changes and released our map, but it feels like a slap in the face to deal with a Discovery system that seems completely bugged.

Discovery need to be reverted, this system is so bad, its only losing visibility, idk why you guys do this horrible tests, just look maps and ugc vs epic all time, it dropped from 50 to 50, into 70 and 30 …

Come on, people with first person are allready invisible for 4 weeks but take your sweet time :upside_down_face: maybe b4 nuking discovery think a bit ahead

https://fortnite.gg/island/1874-3392-4061

These avg player counts are very low at the moment, even though we’re in Discover. This was so far the best release we’ve had in terms of avg playtime, session + D1 retention.

We also notice, all our other maps are bleeding out way to fast, even though we do content updates for all.

They’re doing ‘ok’ for 5-6 days averaging around 100, and then suddenly it drops 75% to avg 25. Example here: https://fortnite.gg/island/0513-5239-4513

Our CTR’s are through the roof.

Meanwhile we see other creators maintaining significantly higher avg player counts with objectively weaker engagement/retention metrics, which makes it really hard to understand what the discovery system is optimizing for.
